Data Security and User Privacy
Layered Approach to Protecting Sensitive Data
Data Security and Encryption
-
All data within our platform is encrypted, and we utilize first-tier service providers like AWS and Google for secure storage.
-
This ensures that the level of protection for data stored in our platform is consistent with the robust security measures already in place in Google Calendar (where the personal meeting data is stored today).
-
Additionally, we’ve successfully undergone multiple external audits to confirm the integrity of our security protocols.
Aggregated and Limited Data Access
-
Within the SynqUp dashboard, data is only presented in an aggregated format, ensuring individual meeting details or personal information about specific users remain inaccessible.
-
No interfaces within our platform allow access to granular details about a single user or meeting, except for direct database access. This access is strictly safeguarded, monitored, and controlled, with limitations in place to ensure it is used only when absolutely necessary and in compliance with stringent security protocols. This ensures that no individual’s data can be accessed without explicit, controlled, and justified need, maintaining strict privacy standards
Controlled Data Processing
Our data ingestion pipeline is designed to filter out sensitive information rigorously:
-
Meetings without additional participants are not processed.
-
Meetings involving participants with generic email domains (e.g., Gmail) are also excluded from processing - we don’t read titles or other details in these cases.
-
Attachments associated with meetings are never processed.
Short Data Retention Period
-
We store meeting data only temporarily - from the time the meeting is scheduled until it concludes.
-
Afterward, only a statistical summary is retained, excluding sensitive details like titles or descriptions. This ensures minimal data retention while still supporting analytics.
